Surprise!! We got more snow.

I really think we have had more snow and cold weather this Winter than other's. I could be wrong, Just my opinion.

I have spent to much time recently reading blogs. Some crafting, some sewing, and some just interesting. I wish I had the time and knowhow to do all that they do. I am into so many things that I would have a hard time just doing one. They know how to share their talent and their families so that you feel like they are really friends.

The shower things are coming along, still can't post any pics. Son't want the Mother to be to see. But I will after the shower is over.

More Snow!!!

We had another 2 inches last night. I am so ready for Spring.

I have spent the last 2 days searching for baby things. Boy have I found alot of blogs from mother's that make alot of really neat things for their children. I think I could spend to much time looking at all of them.

Is it still Winter!!

I for one am tired of cold, wind and snow for the year. Seems like the winters are getting longer and wetter.

I am getting the the supplies together to help with my daughter's baby shower. I am getting a little girl this year after all the boys. Do you think she will be spoilt? You better believe it. So far I have more little girl clothes than her Mommy.

I am making her a diaper cake for the shower and collecting little things along the way to decorate it with. I will post pics after the shower because on the off chance she actually readd my rambling I don't want her to see it ahead of time. LOL

Well the coffee is in the thermos and I need to go to bed.

Happy New Year to all of my Family and Friends known and unknown.

I am anxious to see when the new year brings. I know I am getting a new granddaughter. I am having fun helping to plan her shower. I have so many things that I want to make I should of started about a year ago I will promise to post pictures of the things I make and do a step by step if anyone is interested.

Happy New Years Eve!!

Another year has come to an end and a new one will start in a few hours. My thought are with those that have lost Loved ones and those who have gained another member of their family.

I have set goals for myself for the coming year, as many do. They are not written in stone, but they are things I would like to accomplish in 2011.

My new sewing machine has been getting a workout making Christmas presents which I can't disclose on here since some have not gotten theirs yet.

I hope that all have a happy and healthy 2011.

Merry Christmas.

It has been a long time since I have posted but as a New Year's Resulation I will try to do better.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and gets to spend lots time with their familie and Friends.

Hard to believe that half of 2010 is over. Sure don't know where the year has gone.

CG and I are having a wonderful summer. We have enrolled in the Library summer reading program. Those who know me knows that I had read the required reading done in a week and the rest is bonus reading.

CG is almost done with his reading. THey only make so many Pok'emon books so we are trying to get thru all of them I guess.

They are doing programs on the countries that hosted the World's Fairs and reading books, doing crafts and sampling cusine from the hosting countries.

If you don't do so check out your local Library. Tomorrow we get lunch and a movie.

April showers bring May flowers

Now that Aprils Fool's day is over we can look forward to the showers and sunshine that bring the flowers.
My tulips are almost ready to bloom and the Mum's are peeking thru the mulch.

Easter is in 2 days and the boys are already looking for the Easter Bunny.

Today is cloudy but warm with the chance of rain tonight and in the morning.

It is also garbage day. I don't understand how 2 people can have 4 cans full. I guess that Spring cleaning has begun.

Is it Spring yet?

After a December and January with record snow falls and low temps I am ready for Spring to be here.
December brought the school Holiday programs. They all did a wonderful job.
But the snow brought snowmen , sledding and snowball fights with my grandsons. Nothing better to brighten up a dreary winter day.

School Days...School Days

The first day of school is fast aproaching or is already here for most children between the age of 4 and 18.

New pencils, paper and a bookbag that is supposed to last til the end of the year. All most children know is they get new things and They get to meet a new teacher and new classmates.

I remember when I was starting 1st grade in a new town, how scary it was for a little 5 year old. I was in a school with big kids(K-8th grade). I had never been around so many big people in my life. I spent the next 6 years in that school and I fondly remember the teachers and the All grade Christmas programs we had every year.

In 7th grade I again moved to a new town and went to Jr. High. I had never heard of that kind of school and all the new people and things to learn.

I stayed in the same town thru the 12th grade and the people that I started 7th grade with I finished with at graduation.

I just hope that children now cherish the time thay have in school and learn all that they can. That really is the stepping stone for the rest of their lives

Sunny Sunday

I think this is the first Sunday we have had without rain in a month. Things are sure getting green and the flowers are starting to bloom.

Seven more days until Mother's day. Celebrating Mother's Day doesn't have to be an expensive holiday. All Mom's really want is to spend time with their families and know they are appreciated and Loved.
Have Mom over for lunch, help plant and weed her flower bed, or just spend time with her. You'll make her day.

Happy May Day!

I remember when I was young we would make May baskets and leave them on the door of friends. We would ring the doorbell and run and watch when they opened the door and found our gift.
DO we still do that?
Has our much remembered traditions gone by the wayside?

May is the month we celebrate our Mother's, a day just for them. Children make pots out of the milk cartons that they have drank, to put a plant in so Mom can plant it in her flower garden. They draw flowers and suns on construction paper and print "I Love You" and their name so mom will know how much they love them and who it is from.
Mom will put the card in a place of honor on the fridge so she can look at it every day. After the right period of time she puts the year on the card and puts it in a safe place to be brought back out when the child is older and Mom is wondering where her little child is gone.

May is also Memorial Day when we honor our service men and women For their courage and dedication to keep us all safe. We hang our flags and salute when the Veterans march by during the parade.

Let's not just honor these on these days , but everyday.

Spring has sprung?

Spring came 2 weeks ago. You couldn't tell it here. Last sunday we had snow. This morning we had 20 degrees.

Easter is just a few days away. A time for family, good food and lots of Easter eggs.
I remember the days of ruffled dresses, fancy hats and patten leather shoes. I don't know where those days have gone.

A windy March day.

After 4+ inches of rain and 60* weather we now have 40 mph winds and 15*. What change 24 hours can make.

Today will be a baking day. Oatmeal Scotchies and Carrot cake with Cream cheese frosting. Yummy!!

I have also started one of the many baby afghans I plan to make for the many babies due this summer. I think is a year for girls.

Yeah March is here

At least this time we weren't the ones to have all the snow. Some in our family in TN had 7 to 9 inches, and those in MO had 5 inches.

We are redoing our bathroom and so far 2 of the cabinets are finished. We are using the existing counter top. Hopefully soon we can start the demo on the old ones. Then on to the rest. Very exciting time.

Happy Monday

February is almost over, so that means spring is almost here. Right? Is anyone else tired of the brown and grey? And I can't forget the white. I am ready for colors, yellow, orange, red and violet.

Happy Wednesday

Cloudy rainy day. Our weather advisory turned into a dusting of snow. But we shall see.

I went shopping with my youngest daughter yesterday and we went to .25 day at GoodWill. We were in search of "Handsome" shirts for my oldest grandson. Seems being handsome to a 5 year old means having a button down shirt. Works for me because they sure do look handsome in them.

I also did the yearly trip to the DMV to get stickers for the car and truck. There was no line at all and I was in and out of there in 4 minutes.

We had white beans and cornbread for supper. Sure did taste good on a chilly evening.

Is it spring yet?

40* here today with a snow advisory for tomorow.

Is anyone else tired of all the brown and grey?

I am longing for the colors of spring and the fresh smell in the air.

Cold and windy here today. We are expecting 1 to 4 inches of snow tomorrow so I have to go out and get a few things, after I get the car cleaned off without a snowbrush or scraper.

Only 22 more days til Christmas. Are you ready?
